I LOVE the new Retro Sleek line. They have a modern design that is somehow retro and contemporary all at once. The real key to their appeal - the colors. The blue, green, and brown in this fabric is to die for. Rich and earthy. I love them!

Second Chance Greyhounds
I am so intrigued and delighted about this program. I first learned about it from GreytBlackDog. Here is what the program's website says about it:
"Second Chance Greyhounds is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization that has formed a partnership with correctional facilities throughout the state of Georgia to foster and train former racing greyhounds to better prepare them for life as a treasured pet. In return for the good manners that they learn, the dogs provide an outlet for the inmates to practice patience, learn responsibility and allow these men and women the opportunity to experience unconditional love for the first time in many years. It’s a very special partnership that benefits both humans and greyhounds."
You can learn more by visiting the Second Chance Greyhounds website. Truly a win/win situation for everyone involved. I'm sure bonds will be made and friendships will develop that will be important for both parties. Wouldn't it be greyt to see other states adopt similar programs? Spread the word my friends!

Noisy Dog Studio - Call for YOUR DOG'S PHOTO!
2009 Faces of Love Project
Leigh of Noisy Dog Studio is calling all doggies! She is looking to paint all the wonderful dogs out there: big, small, furry and not so furry. She especially wants to paint rescued and adopted dogs. From the number of portraits she creates, she will select twelve to be featured in her upcoming 2010 calendar. She is also creating a compilation book that will feature all the paintings, and it will be available for purchase in the Fall of 2009.
Do you have at least one good, clear photo of your dog's face? You should definitely enter! Find more details on the Noisy Dog Studio website.
Oh, yeah. And ten percent of purchases from this year-long project, includes paintings, prints, calendars and books, will be donated to A Place to Bark Animal Rescue. Pretty cool! I just love Leigh's work and I hope you'll join me in sending her your rescued pup's story and photo!
