Spinach Green Yoda Dog Biscuits

It's about time we made some more dog treats around here.  I wanted to make little hedghogs crisps (they'll be next), but my 4 year old had another idea.

"Mommy, can we please make Yoda cookies?!?"

How could I pass that up?  Yoda is one of my all time favorite dudes.  So we gave it a go and I'm really please with how they turned out!  Please note, these are biscuits and not cookies.  They are green and not toasty brown.  They are definitely the best dog treats in the galaxy.

Yoda Dog Biscuits

1/2 Cup Butter
1/4 Cup Oil
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Cooked Spinach (wring out the water!)
2 Cups White Flour
1 Tbls Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda

In a blender (I used a Vitamix) pour 1/4 cup of oil and add the drained spinach.  Now, blend the star troopers out of it!!!  After 1 - 2 minutes add 1/5 of your room temperature butter.  Blend for an additional 4 minutes...I'm not kidding.  BLEND. IT.

In mixer cream the rest of the butter with the spinach mix and add 1 egg.

Mix together the white flour with the baking powder and baking soda.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet mixture.

Transfer to a lightly floured counter and knead for 1 minute.

Roll out and cookie cutter out some Yoda shapes.  We used the Yoda from this set.

Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes - do not over bake or your Yoda's will lose that nice green color!

These cookies pretty much take the cake on realistic touches... these Yoda treats come complete with Yoda hair and everything!

When 900 years old, you reach...Look as good, you will not." - Yoda

The best part is that Abby and Dewey LOVE them!  Snatched them right up!

And since we're on the subject, you've gotta listen to The Bark Side:

The Aviators

We've got a ton of new collar designs to introduce to you guys. We've been hard at work here in the studio and are thrilled to start sharing some of our favorite designs.  Let's start off with these bad boys...

Introducing our new Aviator collar set as it takes off on it's first flight! We're excited to send these two off into the skies just days before Memorial Day Weekend. What better way to honor those brave men and women who've served in the US Air Force?

We hope you and your doggies will love sporting these handsome collars!  The first of many more new designs to come...stay tuned for more!

Congratulations Gizzy!

Gizzy, originally uploaded by ClassicHound.

Congratulations to Gizzy, a Podenco Andaluz from the British Isles, as he sports his big brother Max's Country Club Blue martingale.  Gizzy lives in The Dog House with his greyhound family, which makes him one lucky dog.  Gizzy's mum creates and sells awesome greyhound inspired items which makes him twice as lucky!  And now he's just won a $20.00 gift certificate that he can use towards any Classic Hound collar or leash purchase - that makes him lucky three times over!
